Understanding Weight Fluctuations on your Journey
Weight Fluctuations are NORMAL – You will see your weight go up and down. That’s OK and perfectly normal. When you see it go up, don’t get discouraged. When you see if go down, don’t get excited. Weight fluctations can happen for any number of reasons:
1 – The biggest reason we see weight go up can be an increase of salt in our meals which causes water retention. Water is a large percentage of your weight.
2 – Another factor is a meal with more carbs in it. Carbs retain water, that’s why you see any restriction of carbs causes a quick “weight loss” due to water.
3 – Hormones play a role in water retention. It can vary person to person, but this is something to be aware of.
Your focus should be on falling in love with healthy habits and being consistent. The scale will reflect your love of these habits and consistency.
